Proofyard

BugHerd vs Proofyard

A BugHerd alternative for client feedback

Both put a pin on the live site and capture the browser and the page. The difference is what happens next: in BugHerd a note is a task on a feedback board you sync to your project tool; in Proofyard it lands on the project where the work is done, next to the design, the client and Claude.

The short answer

Which one fits your agency

Pick BugHerd if you only need website feedback and you already run projects in Jira, Asana or Monday: it is cheaper for a small team, has video and audio notes, proofs Figma, PDFs and images, and syncs both ways with those tools.

Pick Proofyard if feedback is one step in client work you want in one place: notes land on the project next to the Claude Design boards, the scope and the client, and Claude helps sort them and hand them to Claude Code. You pay per team member and get the whole board.

We used BugHerd at Woofocus for years for notes on client sites. It did that job well. What it could not do was keep a note next to the rest of the job, so a producer carried each one into Asana and back.

What is different

Where a note goes after it is left

  1. 01

Notes land on the project, not a separate board

Website and design notes arrive on the project's Feedback board, where they can be tied to a task, merged or made into one task, next to the work they are about.

A feedback note open on the Acme board with where it was left and who should take it
  2. 02

    Claude Design boards, as versions

Paste a Claude Design canvas link and the boards come in as a version. Clients pin notes on the design from a review link, so feedback never lands on the wrong round.

  3. 03

    The client checks the fix

When a note is resolved, the client sees "Marked as resolved. Please check it." on their site. Looks good closes it; Still wrong opens it again with their words.

  4. 04

Notes to Claude Code, screenshots included

Pick the notes and send them: Claude Code opens each one through the connector, makes the change and moves it to Test for a person to check.

In BugHerd

  • Notes live on BugHerd's own board; with Premium they sync both ways to Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Monday, Linear or Teamwork.
  • Figma screens, PDFs and images can be proofed; Claude Design boards are not mentioned on its pages.
  • Done means fixed but not yet verified by the task owner.
  • BugHerd has its own MCP server (beta) for Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini and Codex.

To be fair

Where BugHerd is the better choice

We build Proofyard, so weigh this with that in mind. These come from BugHerd's own pages and from our years of using it.

  1. Feedback only, at a lower price

If your projects already live in Jira or Monday and you want feedback alone, a BugHerd plan costs less than our seats for most teams.

  2. Video, audio and text edits

Clients can record a minute of video or audio, or suggest a text change in place. We have none of these.

  3. Figma, PDFs and images

BugHerd proofs static files on every plan. We review Claude Design boards and websites only.

  4. Integrations

Two-way sync with the big project tools, plus Slack, Teams, GitHub, Zapier and more. We connect to far fewer.

  5. Enterprise sign-in

SAML single sign-on and SCIM on the Custom plan. We have two-factor sign-in and nothing for SSO yet.

  6. Track record

Founded in 2010 in Melbourne; its homepage reports 10k+ companies and 350k+ users. Our first line of code was written in October 2026.

Moving over

Bring your BugHerd notes with you

  1. 1

    Export from BugHerd

In BugHerd, Settings, Export bugs, as CSV. The file is emailed to you.

  2. 2

    Import on the Feedback board

Pick the project and the file. You see the notes before anything is filed; people are matched by email.

  3. 3

    Keep working

Notes keep their page, stage and comments, and screenshots are copied over. Importing the same file twice adds nothing.

Questions

BugHerd alternative

Is there a free BugHerd alternative?

BugHerd has no free plan, only a 7-day trial. Proofyard is free for 14 days, and while our paid plans are not open, a workspace is not charged.

Do clients need to install anything?

No. With Proofyard the site needs one script tag, and clients use a review link. BugHerd offers a script too, or a browser extension.

Can I use Proofyard only for website feedback?

Yes. Add the script to a site and use the Feedback board; the rest of the board is there when you want it.

Does Claude fix the notes on its own?

Only what a person sends it. Claude Code opens each note, makes the change and moves it to Test; a person checks it, and only a person marks it done or writes to the client.

Can I bring my BugHerd history?

Yes, from BugHerd's CSV export: notes, their page, stage, comments and screenshots.

Who makes it

Made by Woofocus, a web studio, for its own work first

Woofocus has built and looked after client websites since 2010. We made Proofyard because our own production was spread across a task tool, a feedback tool and long chat threads, and we are moving our studio's work into it now. Any agency can open its own workspace.
