monday.com vs Proofyard

A monday.com alternative for agencies

monday.com is a work platform you shape into whatever a team needs, from boards and columns, with AI credits, a large app marketplace and separate products for sales, service and software teams. Proofyard is narrower: a production board where a client site goes from brief to launch in phases, the client approves in their own area, notes are pinned on designs and live sites, and Claude works the board while a person decides.

Free for 14 days, no credit card needed.

The short answer

Which one fits your agency

Pick monday.com if you want to build your own boards for every team, with 850+ integrations and apps, an API, mobile apps, dashboards, enterprise security and, if you need them, monday CRM and monday service in the same account. Basic, at $9 a seat a month billed yearly, is cheaper than ours, and Free covers up to 2 seats.

Pick Proofyard if most of your work is client websites and you want the agency steps in the tool itself rather than built from columns: phases from brief to launch, approvals that clients give in their own area, notes pinned on Claude Design boards and live sites, and Claude doing the connecting work while a person approves. You pay per team member, not in seat buckets, and clients are free.

We have not run Woofocus's client work in monday.com. What follows about monday.com comes from its pricing page, support articles and other pages of its own, read on the date above; each one is listed at the end. Where we could not read a page, we left the fact out.

The AI, side by side

How the AI works in each

Both tools count AI in credits, but the credits are not the same unit, so compare what they buy rather than the numbers. monday.com sells more at about a cent a credit; one of our credits is a tenth of a cent of Claude's real cost.

monday.com

Credits per account
Each paid plan comes with AI credits for the whole account, not per person: 1,000 a month on Basic, 2,000 on Standard and 3,000 on Pro. More cost $0.01 a credit billed yearly or $0.0125 monthly, per monday's own blog.
What uses them
The AI agent workforce, the AI meeting notetaker, the Sidekick assistant, the vibe app builder, AI columns and, on Pro, the AI workflow builder. Its blog lists some AI features that use no credits, such as summarise and rephrase.
When they run out
monday's blog says features that use credits pause until more are bought or the next cycle starts, and the free AI features keep working.
MCP
A hosted MCP server on every plan at no extra cost, which works with Claude, Cursor and Copilot Studio. Each person authorises it, and it sees only what that person can see.

Proofyard

Claude first
Every new request starts with Claude: type it, paste a brief or drop a link, and Claude drafts the tasks, routes them and asks on the task about anything missing.
Claude's state on every card
Queued, working on a step, waiting for a person, done or failed, on every card, row and task pane, as it happens.
Agents with an owner
Agent teammates get a role, skills, instructions and a named person who supervises them. What an agent makes is a draft until that person approves it, and Pause stops it at once.
How it is billed
Claude's work is counted at what it costs at Anthropic's list price: one credit is a tenth of a cent. Each team member adds 3,000 credits a month to one pool, and the AI usage page shows who used what. If the pool runs out, Claude rests until the next month and the board keeps working. More credits are not on sale yet.
MCP
A connector for claude.ai, Claude Code and Cowork, so you can pick up work, answer Claude's questions and hand in drafts from a Claude chat. That work runs on your own Claude plan.

Who decides

The line Claude does not cross

Claude never publishes a site, emails a client or approves anything on its own. It prepares; a person decides. In monday.com, what its agents may change is up to the permissions you grant, and its MCP guide recommends reviewing AI changes before you confirm them.

Pricing

What a year costs, at list price

monday.com sells seats in team sizes, not one by one: 3, 5, 10, 15 and so on, so a team of 8 pays for 10. Standard is $12 a seat a month billed yearly, the same as Proofyard at $12, so the difference comes from the seat buckets. Pro, where time tracking and workload are, is $19. Basic is cheaper at $9 but has no guest access.

  • monday.com: Free for up to 2 seats, Basic $9 a seat a month billed yearly ($12 monthly), Standard $12 ($14), Pro $19 ($24), Enterprise by quote. Paid plans start at 3 seats; past 40, the page suggests asking for a quote. New accounts start with a 14-day Pro trial.
  • Eight people on Standard pay for 10 seats: $1,440 a year at list price, against $1,152 for Proofyard.
  • Read-only viewers do not count toward the bill. On Standard every fourth guest counts as a paid member; Pro allows unlimited guests.
  • Proofyard has no free plan: 14 days free with no card, then one price per team member. Support, our client email inbox, is in early access and not in the plan yet.

What is different

Where the agency work goes

  1. 01

Phases that follow how a site is built

Each project runs in phases from brief to launch: brief, copy, design, approval, changes, build, testing. A phase can carry a default person, a checklist and a gate, such as an approval before the build starts. In monday.com you build this from boards, groups and status columns, or start from a template; it bends to any process, and someone has to design that process and keep it in shape.

    See the feature
The Acme board with columns Brief, Design, Review and Changes requested, and cards showing priority, dates and Claude's state
  2. 02

The client approves, and it is on record

A client sees what waits for them with the design beside it, and presses Approve or Request changes. The answer is recorded with the design version and moves the task to its next phase. In monday.com a guest can be invited to a board; we found no client approval step among its plan features, and its customer portal is part of monday service, a separate product.

    See the feature
A home page waiting for the client's approval, with its stage line, Request changes and Approve, a note saying who hears the answer, and the design with a pinned comment
  3. 03

Notes pinned on designs and live sites

Clients pin notes on Claude Design boards from a review link, and on the staging or live site through one script tag. Each note keeps the page, the device and a screenshot, and lands on the project's Feedback board. We found no pinned comments on designs or sites among monday's plan features.

The Feedback board of a project with notes in New, To do, Doing, Test and Done, each showing the page it was left on
  4. 04

Claude works the board; a person decides

Claude suggests who, when and how urgent, drafts what it can and works the queue people hand it, through a connector from claude.ai, Claude Code or Cowork. It never approves, publishes or emails a client. monday.com has its own AI too, listed below the screenshot.

    See the feature
The Claude queue: Cowork checked the queue a few minutes ago, a box to tell Claude what to make, and a request where Claude asks a person a question

In monday.com

  • An AI agent workforce, a meeting notetaker and the Sidekick assistant, all paid from the account's AI credits.
  • A vibe app builder that makes small apps inside the account.
  • A hosted MCP server on every plan, which works with Claude, Cursor and Copilot Studio.
  • Dashboards that combine up to 20 boards on Pro.

The screenshots are from the app with sample data: Acme, Maya and the team are made up.

To be fair

Where monday.com is the better choice

We build Proofyard, so weigh this with that in mind. These come from monday.com's own pages.

  1. It bends to any team

Boards, columns, 200+ templates, forms and dashboards let you model almost any process, from production to hiring. We only do agency production.

  2. More than project work

monday CRM, monday dev and monday service sit in the same account, so sales, a dev team and a client help desk with a customer portal can share it. We have none of these, and our Support inbox is in early access.

  3. Integrations and an API

monday.com lists 850+ integrations and apps and has an API with daily limits by plan. We connect to a few tools and have no public API.

  4. Security and compliance

SOC 2 Type II on every plan, ISO/IEC 27001 and 27018, SAML single sign-on on Enterprise, and data regions in the US, the EU and Australia. We have optional two-factor sign-in and none of these.

  5. Small teams and lean budgets

Free covers up to 2 seats, and Basic is $9 a seat a month billed yearly. If you do not need guests, that is cheaper than us.

  6. Mobile apps and track record

monday.com has iOS and Android apps on every plan, and its pricing page says 250,000+ customers rely on it. Ours installs from the browser, and our first line of code was written on 3 October 2026.

Trying it

Run one client project next to monday.com

  1. 1

Pick a client project that is just starting

Moving a running project is the hard part, and we import from Asana only. A new site is an easy test.

  2. 2

Keep monday.com for what it does well

If other teams run on monday.com, leave them there. Use Proofyard for the client's brief, designs, approvals and notes on the site.

  3. 3

Count the emails after the first launch

Count the approvals and notes you did not have to chase by email, and decide from that.

Questions

monday.com alternative

How does monday.com count seats?

In buckets: paid plans start at 3 seats and go up in fives, so a team of 4 buys 5 seats and a team of 6 buys 10. Viewers are free. Proofyard bills each team member, and clients are free.

Is monday.com's AI included in the price?

Partly. Each paid plan includes AI credits for the whole account, 1,000 a month on Basic up to 3,000 on Pro, and more cost about a cent each. In Proofyard each team member adds 3,000 credits to one pool; our credits are a tenth of a cent of Claude's real cost, so the two numbers are not the same unit.

Can clients approve designs in monday.com?

We found no client approval step among monday work management's plan features. Guests can be invited to boards from Standard. In Proofyard the client area has Approve and Request changes, kept with the design version.

Does monday.com have an MCP server for Claude?

Yes, on every plan at no extra cost, and it works with Claude. Proofyard's connector works with claude.ai, Claude Code and Cowork.

Can I import my monday.com boards?

Not directly. We import from Asana, one project at a time, and have no importer for monday.com yet.

Who makes it

Made by Woofocus, a web studio, for its own work first

Woofocus has built and looked after client websites since 2010. We made Proofyard because our own production was spread across a task tool, a feedback tool and long chat threads, and we are moving our studio's work into it now. Any agency can open its own workspace.
